About This Page:

On this site, you will find multiple methods to interacting with the Somerset County, NJ Emergency Services Scanner Feed! This feed is completely hosted by me and features a dual-feed setup that independently monitors different systems to maximize the radio traffic on each the feeds!

Current Number of Listeners:
Uniden BCD996XT

Current Number of Listeners:
Uniden BCT15X

The left feed features the Somerset County Trunked Radio System (TRS) and maintains its focus on that system only. The TRS is home to the greatest amount of emergency radio traffic, coordination and special ops channels and by keeping a feed tuned to each of the two control channels (one for the main site and one for the new P25-I site), this helps to maximize your ability to monitor. Eventually, this will focus strictly on the P25-I site as the original site gradually converts over throughout 2012.
This channel is scanned using a Uniden BCD996XT.
The right feed features Somerset County's wide variety of conventional channels, mainly the Paging / Alerting channels (e.g. 470.1375), Bridgewater Fire Districts channels, Fire VHF-High (154.3100) and other areas of the county that have not yet migrated to the TRS. Additionally, the NJSP TRS is occasionally monitored for Aeromedical (NorthSTAR / SouthSTAR) traffic, as well as Troop B's 5-COMM channel for routine I-287 & I-78 (Somerville and Perryville barracks) operations.
This channel is scanned using a Uniden BCT15X.

Monitoring this feed

There are a few options one may take in order to monitor this feed, each with a different level of functionality:
(1) Stay on this page! At the very top, you should see the feed running as we speak! Perhaps you even hear it already! (You should; it should have autostarted).
(2) Using Winamp, you have a little more control over seeing what you're listening to. You get access to each channels' alpha tags (i.e. channel identifiers), as they will display in the Winamp statusbar. This allows you to directly determine which agency you are listening to, rather than just hearing strictly audio. Click here to proceed to the Winamp website to install Winamp.
Once Winamp is installed, click here for the TRS feed; click here for the Conventional feed. Under Player Selection, select Winamp, then click the speaker icon under Listen.
(3) This last option allows the user to view a graphical interface of the scanners themselves. It is currently only available for the Windows Operating System.
You will first need to download ProScan - Free Client.
Once ProScan is installed, you can run either one or two instances of it, depending on if you want to monitor only one feed or both simultaneously. All you will need to do is go to the Remote Scanner Over IP tab, click Update and look for the two feeds under the IP Address or Name of scanner.torr3nt.net.
The TRS feed should have a port number of 32768 and the Conventional feed should have a port number of 32767.
